Supervising Peers… Influencing Without Authority

How often do you have a great idea, only to have your enthusiasm dashed by the negative reactions of your peers and colleagues? Accomplishing goals today requires us to win support, even when we are not given authority over those whose commitment is critical to the success of a project or task. Learn the key conditions necessary to winning support when you don’t have authority.

Who should attend?

  • People who need to use and gain the support of their peers in order to accomplish a task or project.
  • Individuals interested in finding new ways to execute tasks
  • Intact teams who collaborate with other teams
  • Employees who work within a cross-matrix organizational system

Agenda

  • Identify and understand how to constructively respond to resistance toward new ideas
  • Explore ways to effectively present new ideas to peers
  • Recognize the importance of and learn tips to help you manage yourself during the influencing process
  • Learn how to build trust, a collaborative climate, increase commitment and influence peers
  • Action planning

*There is a $90 materials and facilitation fee for this event which will be charged directly to your office/department cost center. An additional workshop fee will be charged for all registrations not canceled at least 72 hours before workshop.
