Description

Supervising in Times of Trauma

This interactive workshop will introduce a conceptual and practice framework to identify, analyze and intervene in organizational crises. Whether the organization is experiencing internal or external trauma, the reverberations are often experienced in relational disturbances with potentially lasting effects. We will explore and apply a framework for analyzing the relational health of organizational systems, drawing on systems theory, trauma intervention and relational-cultural theory to help define the dimensions of relational systems. Leadership skill sets will be explored as a practical model to prevent organizational trauma and restore pro-resilient practices to organizations.

Objectives

1. Identify the inherent influence of organizational trauma history on organizational patterns and cultures in order to connect that influence to trauma and traumatization
2. Grasp a framework to analyze organizational realities as prime impact for traumatic events
3. To be able to recognize when unresolved trauma in organizations blocks peoples’ capacity to be able to perform effectively
