Event description
Hotel Saint Vincent presents a Super Tuscan Wine Dinner with Master Sommelier Craig Collins of Vintus

About this event

Hotel Saint Vincent kicks off its wine series with a world class dinner celebrating some of the most famous Super Tuscan producers. ‘Super Tuscan’ is a term used to describe red wines from Tuscany that often includes non-indigenous grape varietals, particularly Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. The movement was born of frustration with Italy's traditional wine production rules. The results changed wine forever and created a category all its own.

Hosted by Master Sommelier Craig Collins of Vintus, one of the premium importers of Italian wines in the country, the night features a heavyweight lineup with bottles from iconic estates such as Ornellaia and Le Macchiole.

The wines are paired with five-course menu from the San Lorenzo Kitchen featuring Swordfish Saltimbocca, Pappardelle Pork Cheek Ragu, Grilled Ribeye with Rosemary Salsa Verde and Chocolate Cannolis. Event begins at 6pm.

TICKETS INCLUDE 20% GRATUITY AND ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

*Special Note: A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to Second Harvest Foodbank New Orleans, the largest charitable anti-hunger network in South Louisiana.

Organizer Hotel Saint Vincent

Organizer of Super Tuscan Wine Dinner with Master Sommelier Craig Collins

An architectural icon in the Lower Garden District since its conception in the 1860s, the red brick building was originally founded as The Saint Vincent’s Infant Asylum by Irish immigrant Margaret Haughery, a bakery owner and philanthropist celebrated for her humanitarian services in New Orleans. Keeping much of the original architecture, Hotel Saint Vincent honors the property’s storied past and Margaret’s legacy through a highly considered restoration—incorporating an elegant, modern design that complements the property’s historic character. Today, the property features 75 newly-designed guest rooms and lush public spaces, including an interior courtyard with a Saltillo enclosed swimming pool, outdoor verandas, event center, signature bars, and two full-service restaurants—San Lorenzo, serving a coastal Italian menu, and a French-Vietnamese-style café and bakery, Elizabeth Street Café. The hotel is also home to ByGeorge New Orleans, an offshoot of the Austin-based retail boutique.
