Super Saturday

NAMI Minnesota and School District 196 Community Education present Super Saturday a Parent Education Conference On October 5th at Eagan High School. This free event is designed to meet the needs of biological, foster and adoptive parents, family members, paraprofessionals, and others who work with or care for children with and without a mental health diagnosis.

Offering breakout sessions on a variety of topics including: Managing Challenging Behaviors, Special Education, Trauma, Mindfulness for youth, Family Communication Strategies, Suicide Prevention, Cyber Addiction, Chemical Use, What Autistic People Wish You Knew, Crisis Planning, Depression and Anxiety, Wellness, Self-Care, and more!

Featuring Dr. Nancy Binford as our opening keynote speaker. Dr. Binford holds a PhD in clinical psychology with a specialty in neuropsychology. She has done extensive training on trauma and how it affects individual's ability to regulate their emotions, develop safe and secure relationships, as well as their daily living skills.

Registration begins at 8:00 am and includes refreshments and a light lunch. Participants will also have dedicated time to learn about local resources.

9:30 - 11:30 Morning Breakout Sessions

11:30 - 12:00 Resource Fair

12:00 -12:45 Lunch

1:00 - 2:00 Afternoon Breakout Sessions

NAMI Minnesota thanks you for registering to attend one of our classes. We understand that unforeseen situations arise and you may need to cancel your registration. If you are unable to attend, a substitute individual is welcome to attend in your place, but NAMI Minnesota must be notified in writing (e-mail is acceptable) with the name and contact information for the person who will be attending. NAMI Minnesota reserves the right to cancel any event, conference or class due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If there is a cancellation, participants will be notified by telephone and/or email as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule.
