Come celebrate the historic success of on the schooner Seaward! Thanks to our advocacy and the support of people like you, the Pacific Leatherback is the official marine reptile of California and this October 15 will be the first ever Pacific Leatherback Conservation Day in the state!


Climb aboard this classic schooner, an 82-foot double-masted sailing yacht to explore the bay in the "greenest" way possible - wind power!  Sit back and relax, enjoy delicious snacks and beverages, and get involved in supporting sea turtles and a cleaner, healthier ocean.

WHAT: A relaxing sunset sail in San Francisco Bay aboard an amazing vessel to benefit two non-profit organizations.


COST: $50 each person,  and $10 discount with "seaturtle" code.


WHERE: The Seaward leaves from the Bay Model Pier, 2100 Bridgeway, Sausalito, CA 94965. Driving directions at


WHEN: 6:00-8:30pm on Friday September 20, 2013.


WHY: This special sunset sail is offered by the nonprofit Call of the Sea in partnership with us as a celebration of the Pacific Leatherback Sea Turtles in California. Friends and members of the Sea Turtle Restoration Project get discounted tickets! All proceeds from this event will be donated to support the efforts of the Sea Turtle Restoration Project's Marine Debris Action Teams to cleanup plastic pollution that is deadly to endangered leatherback sea turtles.  


Seaward's and the Sea Turtle Restoration Project’s crew of professional educators will also be offering optional learning stations in ocean conservation, plastic pollution science and removal from the sea, and bay ecology and navigation. Conservation leaders from will be available to discuss the campaign activities behind the passage of the Leatherback Marine Reptile Bill last year and current actions we can all take to save sea turtles and work towards a cleaner, healthier future for San Francisco Bay and all ocean habitats.


We are pleased to be pouring a very special beverage to those guests over 21 years old.



Climb aboard the classic schooner "Seaward" and see San Francisco from the water! Take in an unmatched view of the city front as you sail by famous San Francisco sights such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Angel Island. You can sit back and enjoy the view, or get involved with sailing the schooner with the help of our professional captain and crew. Complimentary wine, cheese, and light refreshments will be served.

Call of the Sea

Call of the Sea is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit with the mission of connecting people to the sea and maritime traditions. Our teaching platform is the lovely 82' schooner, SEAWARD. Our goal is to offer the benefits of connecting with the outdoors through sailing to all people, with a special focus on empowering youth of all backgrounds. Our programs range from three hours to two weeks long, primarily taking place on San Francisco Bay but occasionally ranging as far as Baja Mexico. Educational programming focuses on marine science, nautical heritage, teambuilding, and leadership development. Schooner Seaward also offers Public Sails for the community.
