Sunset Cinema: Tampopo

This year the outdoor film + entertainment series highlights food-centric features that will tickle the tastebuds. Together with Denver Film, Denver Arts & Venues will be presenting a lineup of films that will transport us throughout the globe, across decades and often to the extreme heat of a chef’s kitchen. There will be performances presented by Dazzle before the films along with themed food trucks, drinks and other cinema snacks available for purchase.

All events are FREE, but please register so we know how many people to expect.

• Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with local food trucks, cinema-style snacks and beverages available for purchase
• Pre-show entertainment starts at 7:15 p.m.
• Films begin at dusk

Bring your chairs, blankets, family and friends down to the Galleria and enjoy the show! We'll gather on the lower terrace of the Galleria where the complex meets Scupture Park, next to Boettcher Concert Hall. There will be some seating available on a first come, first serve basis.

Japanese Arts Network Cultural Mixtape celebrates their love of Japanese cultural tradition and heritage, as well as their love of hip-hop music, through interactive and engaging genre-bending live music and art performances. Featured artists include emcee and beatmaker 3Two who has been part of Colorado's emerging hip-hop scene for a little over half a decade; second and third generation Colorado-born Japanese American taiko drum musicians and folk dancers Courtney Ozaki and June Kurobane, second generation Japanese American Aerial Artist Leilani Rose, Okinawan American sanshin musician Gabriel Batmanglidj, multi-instrumental string musician Matthew Ryan Durgin, and local favorite dancers Chopz, Josiah, and Sorrow.

The Japanese Arts Network (JA-NE) is a Colorado-based national resource for artistic collaboration and connection. We provide access to resources and develop programs and platforms that support and strengthen visibility for Japanese Artists in America who create with ‘cultural intention’ and are vital to society. We are dedicated to bringing together artists, communities, and stakeholders by celebrating and advancing Japanese arts experiences in America.
