The Sunrise Kingdom is a visual art event put together by indies black arts publication The Experience Mag, which curates and features over 20 upcoming black & Latinx visual artists. The event will consist of a pop-up exhibition, performances, film, fashion, dance and independent vendors. The purpose of the show is to continue to celebrate the colorful, expressive world of black arts while presenting an opportunity for artists to network and build new relationships.
The first edition of the Sunrise Kingdom was held in the Bronx Museum of the Arts in January 2017. The 2nd edition took place July 16th at FiveMyles in Brooklyn. The third and latest edition will be at the Queens Museum. The event will promptly begin at 5:30 PM and end at 9:30PM.
THIS IS A FREE EVENT; however there is a $5 suggested donation the proceeds of will go to charitable causes: some funds raised will go to The Learning Tree Multi-Cultural School in Queens while proceeds will also go to provide supplies to the victims of the Bronx Belmont fire from a few weeks ago. The first 50 people will receive a special gift bag. It is also an all black attire event.
