Sunday night Sangha - A weekly meditation group created by Dr. Mima Geere, functional medicine practitioner, co-fascilitated with yoga teacher and entrepreneur Marc Morozumi. Each week, we focus on specific topics that relate to the body/mind relationship with medical and spiritual insights. We start with a short lecture and discussion followed by a guided and/or silent meditation practice.
When there is stress and disruption to the natural rhythm of the body, we may feel off-balance and wish to find the source of this issue. Sometimes we can find this quickly and simply, other times it may feel like a tiring journey through an endless maze. The body and mind are resiliant but over time take a toll from the physical and emotional strain and stress, resulting at times with warning signals or a full message to stop and refocus.
Both yoga and buddhism recognize there is a cause to this suffereing and there is a path we can practice to lead us out of suffering. The root of the issue may be better resolved when healing can be addressed from a body/mind/spirit perspective along with a continued practice that helps shift habits towards optimum health.
