Sunday Dance
Event Information
About this Event
We are delighted to announce that we will start dancing again in Forres Town Hall on Sunday 29th November at the new times of 5.00 to 7.00pm.
Deborah will be leading an Open Floor Community Dance session (Nov 29), Peter will be doing Ecstatic Dance (December 6) and Bettina will be offering 5Rhythms® (December 13).
Deborah might offer an Open Floor Meditation Cycle on December 20th tbc.
If all goes well, we will continue in the New Year.
Classes will be limited in numbers to the first 20 people and everyone must book in advance online. At the moment just the first class is available to book. If demand is very high, we may give priority for the second class to people who were unable to book the first class (or offer 2 classes back to back).
Booking early helps us to assess demand and is appreciated. Full price is £15.00 and concession £10.00. We are absorbing the Eventbrite booking fees so this is what you pay.
All classes follow Scottish Sports Guidance (detailed guidance is available here
https://sportscotland.org.uk/media/6010/sports_halls_gyfffs_info_sheet.pdf) and the following will apply:
• 2 Metre social distancing applies (20 people plus crew and a teacher = the guidance of 9 square metres per person. Unfortunately, this means no physical contact, including hugging. We understand this will be hard, but we need to adhere to this for public health, and avoiding a big fine, for us, and our venues.
• Masks need to be worn on entrance and exit from classes but not during dance.
• Doors open at 5.00pm. Everyone needs to be in the Hall by 5.15pm.
o Please arrive in your dance clothes and enter the Town Hall at the side door with a mask. We will have a list of everyone who has paid
o Enter the Hall and put your bag/water etc on a seat
o Once you are ready to start warming up you may take your mask off and are free to move around the Hall keeping 2 metres social distance while dancing
o There will be an area of the Hall marked out for people who want to dance on the spot and not move around the Hall
o Wear layers, we will be keeping the room well ventilated with fresh Scottish air
o If you go to the toilet you need to put your mask back on
o Please put your mask on to leave the Hall
• Dancing will continue to 6.45pm with everyone having left by 7pm.
We appreciate that this might feel awkward, cumbersome, challenging, frustrating.
Bottom line is that if these guidelines are followed more classes can be scheduled.
Please, don’t come to dance if you have any of the following symptoms: Loss or change in sense of smell or taste, Fever, Chills or sweats, Cough, Sore throat, Shortness of breath or Runny nose.
• There are no refunds on tickets but please notify us if you can't make it, so that we can fill the spot. If you have booked and can no longer attend you can
a) find someone to replace you and
b) email Peter to let him know their name.
This new person would have to provide track and trace details.
We are looking for crew to help clean and welcome people as usual. Please contact Peter if you’re interested in supporting the dance in this way and having a free place. The crew will not be "policing" the rules.
We thank you for your flexibility and invite you to join us in making dancing together in person the priority. We’re looking forward to this new venture!
Love,
Peter, Deborah and Bettina
