LET'S GET WORKING ATLANTA!! - Who loves ya? TIM

ABOUT THE ON-CAMERA AUDITION TECHNIQUE CLASSES

The reality is that the on-camera audition has evolved into an art form of its own. Self-tapes, even for theater and especially for TV auditions, need to be “finished” quality, requiring a level of specificity and authenticity that used to be seen only in directed work. Work with Tim Phillips to give yourself the foundation you need to have a craft that stands up to today's demands, while teaching you how to allow for spontaneity and freedom on-camera.

With nearly 35 years as an actor and coach and over 50,000 coachings under his belt, Tim Phillips understands these demands better than most people, and has a time-testes success rate in his on-camera audition coachings that work for every actor, no matter what level you work at.

Tim's technique humanizes the process and translates it into something simple, direct, and, with ongoing practice, highly effective. The before-and-afters speak for themselves. Working with Tim, you'll begin to see yourself in the work in the same way you want the industry to see you!

Studying with Tim you'll learn and master:

• Which audition preparation tools work best for you

• A set of simple, effective, immediately applicable acting tools that ground you in honesty

• How to nail the first ten seconds of the audition, which is where most actors lose the job

• Working from your gut by staying out of your head

• How to quickly make adjustments and incorporate redirects in your auditions, callback, and on set

• How to handle complex directions in a spontaneous manner

• The most simple and human ways to glean every clue the writer has given you

• How to really get, and then satisfy, your character breakdowns

HOW TO PREPARE:

Like Tim’s classes in L.A. and NYC, classes are structured for the Intermediate to the Professional working actor. Y
ou are expected to work professionally in Tim’s class and to be genuinely committed to honing your craft. Actors unable to maintain a professional standard will be asked to work elsewhere.

Expect to work in every class, on-camera, with before and after video playback. Each time you attend you'll provide your own 2-3 page scene, ready to go. You don't need to be fully memorized, but you do need to have done your Sherlock Holmesing well enough to be comfortable with the text, to take adjustments using 1-2 tools each session, and able to connect with your reader.

Class size is limited to 12 so every actor gets a chance to do a full exploration, with personalized coaching. If you choose to watch on a day that you're scheduled to work, please let Tim know so he can adjust the class accordingly.

Current auditions are a priority! Bring yours in, and be sure to let the assistant know!

***Starting September 2nd, Tim's "Sherlock Holmsing the Text” foundational workshop is required before your first class, unless you receive a personal invitation from Tim to start class early.
