Event description
Join Queens Botanical Garden Staff for a 3P / A+ credit, 45hr CTLE hour workshop - Supporting Your Students in Science Learning! Summer 2021

About this event

Explore phenomenon-based learning via virtual experiences with Queens Botanical Garden! The focus of this course is providing successful science experiences for students of varying backgrounds. As we examine the ins and outs of soils and how things sprout, we’ll explore our own and our students’ identities. You’ll leave this course having learned additional science content as well as methods for engaging and supporting students from traditionally marginalized populations. By the end of the class you will have backwards planned a unit of either phenomenon-based or problem based instruction that you can use in your classroom.

This is 3P & A+ credit, 45 CTLE hour workshop meant for teachers of grades 3-8.

Summer Workshop Synchronous Session Dates: July 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16

Each synchronous session is 2.5 hours with 5 hours of asynchronous work in between sessions.

This course will use zoom and google classroom and you must be able to access both.

This course follows ASPDP policy in regards to absences or incomplete work.

If you are registering for P/A+ credits, please pay the ASPDP fee before paying here. The ASPDP fee can be paid at
