Mon, Jun 12, 2017, 8:00 AM – Tue, Jun 13, 2017, 5:00 PM CDT
Summer Spark presented by University School of Milwaukee is an annual two-day innovation symposium for teachers and administrators. It draws educators and administrators from around the Milwaukee area, the country, and even the world, with participants coming from as far away as Mexico, Venezuela, and Argentina.
In 2015, the symposium's inaugural year, more than 200 educators representing more than 60 schools came together to collaborate and share best practices in innovative teaching. Last year, Summer Spark sold out in advance, with more than 260 educators attending from more than 70 different schools.
Summer Spark returns in 2017 featuring keynote speakers Kevin Honeycutt and Marlena Gross-Taylor.
Honeycutt is an internationally acclaimed speaker and author whose presentations around creativity, technology, music and theatre, and service all revolve around the overall essential mission of educators - learning. You can follow him on his website or on Twitter.
Gross-Taylor is a dedicated and successful K-12 educator, speaker, and founder of #EduGladiators. She speaks on culturally responsive, teaching Generation Z, and leveraging social media to promote success in schools.
Additional featured presenters include Gamification Guru Michael Matera, Hacking Assessment Visionary Starr Sackstein, Ed Tech Expert Richard Byrne, and Digital Innovator Kristin Ziemke.
Registration with an "early-bird discount" runs from January 15 through April 17, 2017, with a cost of $160 for both days - the same cost as in 2016. After April 17, the regular rate of $190 for both days will apply.
