Event Details

Celebrate Summer Solstice at Van Bibber Park!

BACKGROUND: Van Bibber Park offers visitors a get-away from the neighborhood as well as a home and migration stop for wildlife. The Van Bibber Creek wetlands provides habitat for waterfowl, amphibians and insects, which can be viewed from an observation deck. Visitors enjoy mountain vistas from soft-surface trails that meander through open meadows and a 1.5-mile concrete trail that travels the length of the park.

WHY THE WORK IS IMPORTANT: Many of the parks natural surface trails have been impacted by erosion, which can cause visitors to create "social" trails on either side of an existing trail, lead to water quality issues and can be harmful to native vegetation. Volunteers will help restore existing trails and close nearby social trails.
