About the organizer
The Liriodendron Mansion was built in 1898 to be the summer residence of Dr. Howard A. Kelly, one of the “Big Four” founding physicians of Johns Hopkins Hospital. The Palladian mansion, outbuildings, and 108 acres of woodlands, are owned by Harford County as part of Heavenly Waters Park. The Liriodendron Foundation, a non-profit corporation created in 1980, manages the property, maintains the facility, and puts on historic, educational, and cultural offerings, including a free art gallery, for the public. The mansion is open for free tours on Wednesdays from 1 pm to 7 pm and Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm, and is also available as a venue for private events. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
