It’s summertime and it’s time to sizzle on the dance-floor! Put on your best sock hop attire and join the Silver Tones Swing Band for a swingin' good time over Memorial Day weekend. Guys and gals are invited to wear letter jackets, poodle skirts, saddle shoes, and other vintage looks, as the band plays your favorite swing hits from the 1940s, 50s, and beyond! The Vint Hill Community Center features a sprawling wooden dance-floor with plenty of room to spread out. The band will be playing two longs play sets, and there will be audience seating for those who wish to just enjoy the music and watch the dancing. The night will begin with a beginner dance lesson at 7 pm with professional dance instructor Valerie Pyle, and Val will lead us in The Stroll at the band break. Guests will be able to purchase light refreshments, and there will be a 50/50 raffle. General admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Seniors (65 and older) and students (with ID) are $10 at the door. Kids 5 and under are free. Advance discounted tickets are on sale now, so let's go to the Hop!
