Learn to swim in a comfortable home setting! Instructors are trained lifeguards/CPR.
This session meets on Mondays for 4 weeks:
Classes start promptly on the hour with 35 minutes of lesson time and 15 minutes of free swim with the instructor. To keep our lessons on schedule please be ready to get in the pool when your lesson time begins and promptly get out when your free swim time is over.
11:00-11:50 am: PRE-Beginner level is best for children ages 18 months-3 years with an adult. Children are becoming comfortable in the water. Games and water play is emphasized, along with early swim skills.
12:00-12:50 pm: Beginner level is best for children ages 4-5 who are ready to spend some time in the water without floatation devices even though they may not currently do so. They may or may not be putting their face into the water. Skills such as face in water, floating on back, and beginning stroke formation will be taught, as well as fun water activities and games.
1:00-1:50 pm: Intermediate level is best for children ages 5-7 who are ready to learn the beginings of strokes and swimming distance in the water. Chidren should be somewhat comfortable going underwater. Beginning diving, treading water, strokes are all emphasized.
2:00-2:50 pm: Advanced level is best for children ages 7/8+ who are ready to refine strokes, learn more advanced strokes, and work on technique and speed.
Our large backyard is open for families to eat and play while other children attend lessons.
Are there age requirements to enter a class?
We have set forth guidelines for abilities for each level of swim class. These generally follow ages but as a parent you can pick which level you think is most appropiate for your child.
What are my parking options?
Please park on the street in front of our house.
What should I bring into the class?
Please bring a towel and swim goggles if your child would like to wear them during lessons.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please text Nellie: 810-599-9010
What's the refund policy?
Because we have committed to our instructors and appreciate their time please request to cancel at least one week before classes begin.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Are there bathrooms available?
Yes, we have a bathroom available for use. Please note that we have only one bathroom available for all attendees so to best serve all participants extended time in the bathroom to shower or change cannot be accomodated.
Do I need to stay during lessons?
Yes, we do need parents to stay during lessons. We have a large backyard that other children can use to play on the playground or eat picnic lunches while they wait for their lesson or siblings.
Do I need to get in the pool during lessons?
No, parents do not need to get into the pool during lessons, except for the prebeginner age if your child cannot be in floatation devices on their own. However, parents are always welcome in the pool at any class if they desire.
Are there multiple children discounts?
Not at this time.
What about rain?
We will schedule rain dates for missed classes. If you cannot attend a rain date we will refund your class fee for the missed class due to rain.
Can I get a refund for a missed class?
Unless arranged before booking a class, missed classes are nonrefundable, except if we cancel a class due to weather or other circumstances. We have committed to pay our instructor based on scheduled class enrollment.
