Description

Spend some time with us this summer and try a new class!

This month: 'Preserving the Harvest'.

Garden Masters, Inc. Summer Series for 2019 debuts with guest speaker Barbara Brown.

The best time to enjoy fruits and vegetables is when they are just ripe and fresh. Sometimes though a garden or fruit harvest is too much of a good thing to consume all at once. That is the perfect time to practice Preserving the Harvest. A Denton County Master Gardener, Barbara's informed presentation covers how to preserve fruits, vegetables and herbs through freezing, drying or canning. This extensive class includes information on successful techniques for each type of food preservation and shows how-to-use some essential and helpful preparation tools.

Whether the produce was picked from your garden or purchased at a farmers market, you and your family will receive the benefits of your labor many times over. Learn how in this new class.

Barbara Brown completed her Texas master gardener training in 2010 and served Denton County Master Gardener Association as Director of Communications and Board President. A life-long gardener, she grows a variety of vegetables and herbs at her suburban home. Recently she added many native plants to her landscape to support pollinators and reduce water consumption. Barbara’s most unusual hobby is cheese making. Before retiring, Barbara worked as a project manager in technology for 25 years and as a freelance writer.
