Hibernian Hall & VLA DANCE present: Summer Online Movement Series

About this Event


Weekly mixed-level movement classes for Youth and Adults taught by the professional dance artists of VLA DANCE to keep you moving. All classes are taught on both Mondays and Wednesdays online and will be designed for small indoor spaces.


Adult drop-in classes are open to everyone of all identities and dance experiences unless otherwise noted. Classes include yoga, conditioning, and contemporary dance and are aimed at any adult 16+ who want to keep their body and mind healthy over the summer months.

Mondays & Wednesdays (July 6 - August 10)

8:30 - 9:30 AM Yoga

9:30 - 10:30 AM Conditioning

10:30 - 11:30 AM Contemporary Practices(Dance Experience Required)

5:30 - 6:30 PM Mondays Ballet (Dance Experience Required)

5:30 - 6:30 PM Wednesdays Contemporary (Dance Experience Required)

6:30 - 7:30 PM BIPOC* Only Yoga, Meditation, Journaling, & Celebration of Life

*BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous and People of Color and is self identified. This evening yoga class is intended to be a space for celebrating this specific community.


The six-week Youth program is for ages 10-15 and intended to utilize dance and creative practices to continue teaching essential skills of emotional grounding, reading, and writing over the summer. The youth program creates structured summer learning and youth students must attend all six weeks of classes to attain the full experience. All classes are open to everyone of all identities and dance experiences within the age brackets and will be led by Victoria Lynn Awkward and Charity Broussard.

MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS (July 6 - August 12)

1:00 - 2:00 PM Yoga, Meditations & Reflections

2:00 - 3:00 PM Modern Dance

3:00 - 4:00 PM Dance History and Dance Film
