Event description

Description

Commune with nature while honing your photography skills during this Weekend Workshop.

This weekend is perfect for amateur photographers who want to improve their skills and for non-photographers who just want to enjoy a summer stay-cation by the lake.

Photographers should have basic technical knowledge (ISO, Shutter Speed, Exposure, F-stops, etc) and own a DSLR camera and tripod. Beth Mason and Geraldine Sweeney, who won the 2016 AMC Outdoors Magazine Photography Contest, will focus on developing your skills using a tripod to photograph nature, targeting three different techniques. We will visit two different photo sites on Saturday - one in the morning and one in the afternoon - and review our shots on Saturday evening. Our final photo shoot will be on Sunday morning/early afternoon at a third location. Please bring your iPad or computer to upload your photos that day.

If you don't plan to join the photography workshop, take advantage of our prime location in the heart of Harriman State Park to hike, boat, swim and relax.

This event is led by the chapter's Harriman Program Committee Volunteer Leaders. Paddling and yoga equipment at the camp are provided free of charge courtesy of the NY-NoJ Chapter. Personal canoes & kayaks are allowed on Breakneck Pond; no permit is required.
