Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Cohort II

August 20, 2018 8am-3pm (Onsite Instruction) + 20 hours online instruction

We have applied for CEU with:

MN Board of Education and Teaching, Board of Social Work and the MN Post Board (18 CEUs)

Tuition: $400

Includes: Morning snacks, Lunch and course resources provided, 20 hour online session with 1 day of onsite training on August 20th, 2018

Audience: Teachers, Cultural Diversity coordinators, Liaison Officers, School Resource Officers (Police) Dean of Students, Special Education Teachers, Teacher’s Aides or Educational Assistants or Behavioral Specialist.

Give your Diversity, Equity and Inclusion teachers and staff the skills and professional guidance they need to become master instructor and coaches on issues of Inclusion. We will take time to Investigate results-based research and examine key supports for people in the field of diversity. Together we will Explore the unique needs of diversity professionals in schools. We hope to Discover essential strategies for K-12 diversity leaders, coaches and school leaders to develop an effective culturally reflective and inclusive programs school-wide.

Learning Outcomes:

Gain an understanding of how to work cross-culturally with students and families.
Acquire specific skills, strategies, and techniques that provide essential skills and knowledge built on institutional support for equity educators.
Frame essential diversity, equity and inclusion support strategies within a common language of instruction, schools discipline, productive behavior correction and culturally reflective practices.
Establishing how to engage in student-family goal-setting, using interpreters, and navigating mental illness with a cultural lens and examining best practices for teachers, school resource officers, cultural liaisons or diversity coordinators to immediately and continually improve their instructional practice
