Event description

Description

What better place than a bookstore to learn the art of making books? Campers will explore introductory methods of book folding and binding, learn how to make a book box (for multiple books) as well as make a pop-up book. If you are one to write your own stories at home, bring your drafts along to put your words to the (bound) pages!

Note: We will spend one hour for lunch in Lockwood Park.

Ages 8-12

Dates: 5/26/2020 - 5/29/2020

Time: 10am - 3pm

Instructor: Moira Smith has been the Creative Project Coordinator at the Novel Neighbor since fall 2015, and a summer camp instructor since summer 2016. She graduated from Webster University with a BFA in Photography and has worked as a local art handler for 6 years! Moira has programmed many book/art themed camps and loves sharing bookmaking knowledge with all the young writers and artists in town. Some of her favorite summer camps she’s ever programmed were: The Wonderful World of Roald Dahl, and Harry Potter Art camp.
