Summer Blooms Cake Decorating Class

Join us at the Layered Studio for a fun cake decorating class!

In this class you will learn how to cover your own 6” cake in a beautiful buttercream finish with an abstract buttercream design and fresh flowers. All materials and tools needed to create this cake will be provided by us. Simply show up ready to have fun, be creative, and eat cake!

In this class, we will cover:

The fundamentals of working with buttercream, including our tips and tricks on how to get the silkiest buttercream ever, how temperature is key to a smooth finish, and our recommendations on Swiss meringue vs. American buttercream

The basic tools used to cover and decorate a cake

Our recommendations for coloring buttercream, including our preferred types of color and brands

How to properly frost a cake in a smooth finish

Applying an abstract buttercream design using palette knives and spatulas

How to embellish a cake with metallic accents

How to prepare, arrange, and apply fresh flowers to a cake

What is included:

Three hours of instruction

Snacks, desserts, and drinks to give us the energy we need to decorate our little hearts out!

A 6-inch cake (flavor TBD) that is ready to be decorated by YOU

A cake box to bring your gorgeous creation home in (our cakes freeze well so you can pop the box in your freezer until you are ready to eat or gift it!)

Absolutely no experience is necessary

**PLEASE NOTE: tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend the class, you may transfer your ticket to another person for the same class
