Summer at SAM: Sculptured Dance
Event Information
Description
Every summer, Seattle Art Museum (SAM) presents the Summer at SAM programming series at the Olympic Sculpture Park. The summer programs feature a diverse range of live bands, artmaking, food trucks, and more throughout the park. All Summer at SAM programs are free, open to the public, and all-ages.
On August 31, SAM and Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) will partner to present Summer at SAM: Sculptured Dance, from 5-8 pm, with four brand-new site-specific works, commissioned for this event:
Noelani Pantastico + PNB at Alexander Calder’s The Eagle;
Eva Stone + Au Collective at Richard Serra’s Wake;
Price Suddarth + The YC at Tony Smith’s Wandering Rocks;
Dani Tirrell + PNB at Roxy Paine’s Split.
Summer at SAM: Sculptured Dance will also feature live music, food trucks, and pop up performances throughout the park from Purple Lemonade Collective. Read about all our participating artists at PNB.org/sculptureddance.
Food truck line-up: Bread & Circuses, Off the Rez, Lula Salads, Cheese Wizards, Hallava Falafel, Jemils Big Easy, POP-Up Bike Pops, Molly Moons Ice Cream
Summer at SAM: Sculptured Dance is FREE with RSVP requested. Check in on-site to receive your free thank-you gift from PNB.
PLEASE NOTE: We expect very large crowds for this program. Although we don’t anticipate reaching capacity at the park, your RSVP does not guarantee entry.
