Event description

Description

Please note: Registration is open to individuals who are connected to Alexandria.

The September 13 session is sold out. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email brandi.yee@actforalexandria.org.

IMPACT was the beginning of ACT's racial equity learning journey and based on feedback from event attendees, we are excited to announce our Racial Equity Capacity Building Initiative.

This will include:

  • Workshops that address what it means to be an ally for racial equity and build bridges to ensure equity, opportunity and inclusion for everyone. These one-day workshops will be open to everyone in the community.

  • A Design Lab with participants from the workshops to capture feedback about their desired continued learnings around racial equity with the goal of creating a peer cohort group to begin in October 2019.

  • A six-month Learning Lab to equip leaders in effective racial equity implementation in their organizations.

  • Community conversations that bring people together for dialogue to build deeper understanding and surface new ideas and solutions.

  • Capacity-building grants that help nonprofits build know-how and knowledge about racial equity with their staff, board and constituents.

ACT has hosted five sold-out Allyship workshops and has opened up additional sessions including a 2-session evening workshop on August 19 and 20 from 6:00-9:00pm (you must commit to attending both evening sessions) and a one-day session workshop on September 13 from 9am -4pm. Please register for one session. The cost is $50. Each session can accommodate 30 attendees. Scholarships are available - please contact Brandi Yee at brandi.yee@actforalexandria.org or 703-739-7778 for more information. Registration is open to individuals who are connected to Alexandria.

Dinner will be provided at 5:30pm for the August 19 and 20 sessions. Lunch will be provided for the September 13 session.
