OPEN TO UC DAVIS GRADUATE STUDENTS AND POSTDOCS ONLY

In this workshop you will learn improvisation techniques in order to:

• Explain your research to people outside your field.
• Increase confidence with presentation and public speaking skills.
• Perfect listening skills in order to optimize your response to oral feedback.

This series was designed to be a two-part training. If you can't attend both sessions, you will not receive the full benefit of this training. For this reason, registration priority will only be given to those who commit attend both sessions. If you can't attend both, please don't register - this workshop series will be available again at another time.

Listening & Spontaneity - Tuesday, August 20, 2019, 4:00-6:00pm

Engage in a variety of theater and performance activities designed to enhance listening skills and foster authentic responses.

Message & Audience - Tuesday, August 27, 2019, 4:00-6:00pm

Let the art of theatrical improvisation help you explore presentation skills and deliver the right message to the right audience.

Instructor: Lucas Hatton (MFA ’17) is a veteran of the Chicago improv scene with over twenty years as a director, teacher, and improv instructor. He has worked at IO (formerly Improv Olympic), Second City, Steppenwolf, and A.C.T.
