EnterpriseWorks Chicago, PROPEL, and Argonne National Laboratory presents Summer 2016 Startup Series
Commercializing innovation and launching high-tech startups spans a breadth of activity and new ground for many in academia. EnterpriseWorks Chicago, PROPEL and Argonne National Laboratory have designed a series of presentations as an introduction to the legal, financial and business planning issues early stage innovators needs to know. Seven topics are presented from May to August by subject matter experts and designed to reach a broad audience, create a community environment for peer innovators turned entrepreneurs to meet each other and engage with subject matter experts. Presentations are structured as a “fire side chat” and allow for question and answers.
Monday June 20th, 4pm-6pm
Attorneys and investors present an overview of what venture capital is, the motivations of venture investors, how capitalization impacts legal and finance structure of a company and how investor relationships drive strategy. Topics will include the basics of Capitalization Tables, Investor Requirements and Investor Relationships. Presented by a panel of financial and strategic investors including Anne Sissel of Baxter, Bruce Zivan of Perkins Coie, and Konstantin Kostov.
