Event description

Description

Sukkah Wood will be a one day community arts festival held on Sunday, October 8th from 12PM-4PM in beautiful Inwood Hill Park. Artists and designers will be commissioned to produce temporary dwelling art installations that will stretch the imagination of what a Sukkah can be. According to tradition, a sukkah is a temporary hut in which the Jewish people dwelt to protect themselves from the elements. Sukkah Wood’s message of inclusion and tolerance is universal. It challenges us with questions like “What is a home?” and “How can it be connected to nature?”

In addition to the artists, Sukkahwood will have multiple city and community organizations along with entertainers who will provide a festive atmosphere and activities for people of all ages. A kosher BBQ food truck will be available as well as a DJ who will play music.
