Event description

Description

As counselors in school and community settings, it is important to recognize the signs to help our students more effectivley. QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) is a 1.5-hour Gatekeeper training. The participants will be able to recognize some signs of suicide and provide support and referral and be able to provide Suicide First Aid (similar to CPR for a cardiac crisis).

Presenter: Dr. Wei-Chien is a Licensed Psychologist at San Jose State University and has her Ph.D in Counseling Psychology.

Many colleagues and clients comment that she is a "gifted" psychologist and genuinely care about her clients. She is specialized in helping people with depression, bipolar disorder, worries, eating disorders, and interpersonal/relationship and self-esteem/confidence issues. She also has extensive training and experiences in marital/couple counseling.

Her skills and knowledge are well-recognized -- she regularly provides training to psychologists and therapists. She has also also given 25+ presentations at professional conferences. However, her passion in helping people actualize their potentials most valuable and essential parts of therapy.
