Sugar Skull Decorating Workshop
HighBall Halloween Kid's Day
Kid's Day is part of the sixth annual HighBall Halloween celebration on High Street in the Short North. For details about the complete Kid's Day program please visit: HighBallHalloween.com/kids-day
What are Sugar Skulls?
The Sugar Skull Decorating workshop builds on the Mexican tradition of celebrating "Day of the Dead" or "Dia de los Muertos." Sugar Skulls are called "calaveras de azucar" in Spanish. Sugar skulls are not creepy or morbid. They are happy and vibrant candies and are place in altars or give as a present between friends around Day of the Dead.
What to expect
Guided by Leticia Vazquez-Smith, an experienced Sugar Skull Decorating instructor, children (6-12 years recommended) will decorate their own sugar skull and learn more about this Mexican tradition. Supplies will be provided.
Each workshop takes about 20 minutes.
