Brian Niswander, Founder,

With 30+ years of management, marketing, supply chain management and intelligence experience, with the military and private sector, Niswander began in 2015 to help the military and veteran communities. Its vision is: “To become the trusted first-step in the military-to-civilian transition process for service members.” Using data analytics and visualizations to educate people about the transition process, he helps vets and their spouses overcome employment challenges. The organization’s resource listings (military transition, military spouse employment, education, vet-entrepreneur, state level and training downloads) are the best available and constantly updated; their website offers interactive data-dashboards, analysis, and unique infographics. Niswander, who authored the book, TRUTHS About the Military Transition, earned a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and MBA from Notre Dame University.

Bill Powell, Franchise Consultant, FranNet MidAmerica:

Powell has 30+ years of entrepreneurial and corporate sales/marketing, communications, and management experience, including with GE Aviation, Mitsui, and his own businesses. At FranNet, he’s an educator/coach who helps people decide whether they should start a business, buy a business (non-franchise), invest in a franchise or keep/obtain a job. He represents 250+ franchises in 20+ sectors for FranNet, a well-respected Louisville-based franchise consulting firm. He’s involved with Wright-Patterson AFB and other military initiatives, and loves to work with veterans. His most recent placement is a vet who bought two territories of a growing service franchise. All of his services are at no cost to candidates; he’s paid by the franchisor if/when a candidate invests in a franchise, he’s referred the candidate to. Powell earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Xavier University.
