About this Event

Come join us for our first “Diaspora Startup Panel Discussion” where we host 4 local diaspora entrepreneurs who are creating change in their industries and forging their way to success.

Our Panelists will share their experience, challenges, successes, as well as best practices on how to succeed as an African diaspora professional in the Netherlands.

How do you get started as an entrepreneur? Where can you find support? How do you build a successful company, and what are the steps and skills necessary? These are only some of the questions that will be answered by our expert panelists. Feel free to bring your questions as well.

1. Martha Mghendi Fisher

Founder of the European Women Payment Network (EWPN), the African Women Payment Network (AWPN) & the Beyond Innocence Foundation (BIF). Martha is a public speaker, a Philanthropist, a FemTech advocate, and a Fintech Payment industry expert who is currently leading a tribe of women in FinTech & Payments.

2. Femi Soewu

Founder of the Africa Night Productions. Femi is Member Board Of Directors at Africa in Motion, he is a creative thinker, documentary maker, producer/director, an event manager, a specialist in Minority and African affairs.

3. Alain NKurikiye

Founder of Wajenzi (a crowdfunding platform promoting migrants investment in SMEs in Emerging countries). Alain is an innovator, entrepreneur and lifelong student of Fintech and Finance. He is passionate about migration and development.

4. Jenna Burton

Co-Founder at Wild Fruit Agency, a creative communications agency for forward-thinking companies. She also founded Red, Bike and Green grassroots organization dedicated to promoting healthy living through bike riding in the San Francisco Bay Area. An Anthropologist of training, Jenna has a background in clinical research at the University of California.
