Ambassador Ribeiro, the General Consul of Brazil in Atlanta will also be speaking about the new Legal Guide for Foreigner Investors in Brazil. The book shows the steps necessary to establish a foreign company in Brazil.

Speakers:
 
Jennifer Harris Koon is a Business Unit Sales Manager with Panalpina, and is based in their Atlanta office (Regional Office for Southeast). Jennifer is responsible for developing strategic, and value based business which focuses on Panalpina’s ten vertical industries: Automotive, Manufacturing, Consumer & Retail, Fashion, Healthcare, Chemicals, Telecom, Oil & Gas, and Industrial Projects. Jennifer employs a solutions-based and process-driven sales philosophy, as well as advocating the importance of regulatory compliance.

Jennifer holds a Bachelors Degree in International Marketing, with a Minor in French from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 1992. She has twenty years’ experience in strategic sales, international logistics, and supply chain management. Jennifer obtained both her Broker’s license with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and her IATA/FIATA certificate in 1994.

When not involved with the freight forwarding industry, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Keith, nine year old son, Reaves, and six year old daughter, Sara Rollins. She is an avid reader, huge University of Alabama football fan, and enjoys quiet afternoons at her home on Lake Martin.


HectorHector Romero immigrated to the United States from Cuba in 1962, settling in the Miami area, where he attended Miami Dade College and Florida International University. He worked at the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank from 1971 through 1978 in fiscal agency, check collection and computer systems operations.

He accepted a position at Delta Airlines in 1978, primarily focusing in international air freight. His last position at Delta was as Cargo Coordinator Sales and Service for Latin America and Asia. He was on assignment for two months in 1997 spearheading Delta Airlines’ Cargo initiative in Brazil during the startup of operations, concentrating in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

After joining Delta’s Latin America Region group in 1999, Delta’s revenue from the region grew from several million dollars to 26 million dollars in 2002. In April 2003 he retired from Delta and immediately joined Atlanta Customs Brokers as Consultant for Latin America and the Far East.

In 1997 Hector attained the highly coveted Customs Brokers License from the United States Customs Service and Border Protection agency. He has completed the International Requisite required by the International Air Transport Association. (IATA). In 2006 he received from the Independent Freight Forwarders and Customs House Broker Association the designation of a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).

On March 30, 2012 Hector resigned as Vice President and Customs Broker Licensed Holder at ACB to start his own company. Hector’s company operates out of a combined 11,000 square foot office- warehouse facility located at 3540 Empire Boulevard South West, Atlanta Georgia 30354 USA.
