About this Event

SUB:CULTURE #003 – Bush + Bass (Bush Doof)

Welcome home to the local bass music subculture/scene. This kaupapa is all about cultivating bass, and celebrating bass culture through music and movement – together.

------

What? When? Where?

We have a lot of information to convey to ensure this event runs smoothly, so please ensure you carefully read the description.

Our third activation will be a one-night bush doof in a beautiful setting on the outskirts of Tauranga (30mins) on the last weekend of November (Saturday 28th). The vibe will be hot with a late arvo start next to a beautiful clear river. Bring your togs!

Tickets will be limited to 125, so get in quick to avoid disappointment.

The location is once again Riverside Farm, in the lush rural outskirts of Katikati. Our event is hosted on a working farm. Due to farming requirements, the layout of the event has changed for the summer months. Camping will now be located much closer to the stage area, adjacent to the Airbnb unit. Also, because of this shift in location, vehicle access to the site is now strictly limited to 4WD vehicles only. There is limited parking available near the gate at the top of the hill if you don’t have an offroad vehicle, and you will be required to walk down to the site.

As parking is so limited, we are strongly encouraging you to carpool with as many people as possible, to reduce load on our site and also on the environment,

There is plenty of camping space available near the site, but you will need to carry it in and out through the hill if you do not have access to a 4WD vehicle. The camping area is much flatter than last time, so if you wish to tent, please try to do so.

Key Information

4WD ACCESS: Vehicle access to the site is via 4WD only, the entrance is steep and grassy. Non-offroad vehicles won’t cut it!

VEHICLE SAFETY: No vehicles admitted after dark for safety reasons – please get here early.

DRINK/DRUG DRIVING: Please don't risk it! Always bring a sober driver, or organise yourself to stay for the night if you can't. Police often stake out events to catch people down the road on their way out – it's a possibility.

CAMPING: There is plenty of camping space available in close proximity to the site. Carpool with someone who has a 4WD, and pitch a tent. Please arrive before dark so you have time to set up.

CARPOOLING: Please carpool as much as possible, ideally with a 4WD vehicle

ENTRY AND EXIT TIMES: Gate admission is between 3pm and 10pm. Please leave site the following day as soon as you can, so that the site can be returned to normal for our gracious hosts.

PACK IT IN - PACK IT OUT: This is a LEAVE NO TRACE event in a beautiful space in nature - please don’t bring heaps of crap with you, just the essentials

NO GLASS: Drinks in plastic or cans only (cans have the lowest environmental impact)

COVERED SHOES: This event is hosted on a working farm – please bring covered shoes or gumboots for moving about the site

R18+: This is an R18+ event, and ID will be checked upon entry to the event – minors will not be granted entry

CONSENT: The safety of all of our participants is our paramount concern. Consent is a core pillar of this culture. Ask before you touch! (Yes means Yes / No means No / Maybe means No – for now. A Yes can be changed at any time!) Don’t be an egg!

INTOXICATION: We expect you to have a good time, but if you’re trying to fill a hole by getting wasted, it’s going to be a bad time. Have fun, but please be responsible!
