Drawing in 3D
Explore the possibilities of how functional objects can themselves become armatures for drawings. Consider the function or change the function of the object by creating a new layer to its structure by drawing in, around, or through the object.
Join New Hampshire artist Carly Glovinski for a series of unique drawing and painting workshops that foster creativity through the interplay of people and making. Openly explore a variety of conventional and unconventional media and subject matter inspired by Glovinski’s celebrated artistic practice through the dynamic topics introduced at each session.
Simultaneously featured in the new Maine Center for Contemporary Art’s 2016 Biennial, Carly Glovinski is the 2016 recipient of an Artist Advancement Grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, recently did a residency at the Studios at MASS MoCA, and has a solo exhibition at Carroll and Sons Gallery in Boston this winter. Inspired by objects and notions from her childhood designed to help us understand our environment, Glovinski is known for her unique approach to recreating such objects as beach chairs, nature books, and gardening zone maps.
Register for one or all sessions that will feature new topics, methods, and materials each month. No drawing or painting experience necessary.
What is the refund policy? No refunds will be given unless deCordova cancels. Costs cannot be transferred to another date. This policy is strictly enforced.
