Studio Photography Training - COLOURED GELLED LIGHTING
Sun, June 4, 2017, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM BST
Coloured gel photography is easy peasy!!!
Well it's kind of easy.... Its also ridiculously complex and difficult and sometimes mindboggling and frustrating to the point of wanting to smash up all lights to pieces using only your stupid camera!!!
But most of all it is fun! Working with coloured gels can liven up your portfolio no end. From a simple single coloured background light to a super multiple 6 light mega set up, the possibilities are endless.
So we'd like to invite you to a workshop covering colour theory, styling your subject, colouring shadows and highlights seperately, creating atmosphere or a theme with colour and other psychadelic stuff like that. This isn't just having a play around with the gels. We'll show you the who, what, why, where, when and HOW to use these amazing pieces of coloured film properly.
6 photographers max. An intimate, hands on, full day workshop. Incorporating colour theory and lighting techniques in the morning. Then we'll have a model for the second part of the day for everyone to practice these techniques and get some incredible portfolio images.
Who should come?
Any photographer looking to add colour gel lighting to their portfolio. This session isn't for absolute beginnners though. Photographers attending this workshop should understand their camera basics and have at least some basic knowledge on studio lighting. You may have done some shoots in a studio and know some lighting set ups already and are looking to add some new techniques to your arsenal.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Our studio is just 3 mins walk from Bury Interchange, easy peasy to find if travelling by tram or bus. We've no car park but there are plenty around Bury centre or you can park right outside the studio on one of the metered spaces that Bury Council so kindly provide for us.
What can I bring into the event?
All you need is your camera. Bring a memory card too or else the whole thing will be pointless. Lens selection wise, we've designed the workshop for shooting from wide to around 85mm. As long as you know how to change the camera settings manually and it has a hot shoe then you'll be fine.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call Ant on 07736741435. Or drop us a message through our Facebook page.
What happens after the workshop?
After attending this workshop you'll travel home happy, brimming with excitement at the new knowledge gained, with a memory card* full of lovely RAW files that you will love editing!
You'll be invited to join our super secret Facebook group where you can share your images, ask for feedback from us and community members. You'll also get first dibs and discounted places on any further workshops.
