- Student Social Media Guidelines
This session is designed to familiarize participants with the Student Social Media Guidelines. Participants will be introduced to the Student Social Media Guidelines infographic and consider how they will use this with their students to help ensure they are using social media safely in ways that will lead to college, career, and citizenship success.
- A Common Sense Approach to Cyberbullying
Every day, cyberbullying hurts students, disrupts classrooms, and impacts school culture. This session will help participants address this topic and take an effective stand against cyberbullying by introducing resources and engaging, turn key lessons that help show students how to stand up when they see digital harassment happening and to help educators create a positive school culture where kids can thrive – both online and off.

The NYC DOE Social Media Professional Development is offered by Lisa Nielsen, the Director of Digital Literacy and Citizenship for the New York City Department of Education. She offers professional development designed to develop skills and provide resources for the adults who work with students so they can help them become responsible, safe, literate users of digital media who are prepared for academic, career, and social success.
