Event description

Description

This interactive symposium will address a specific source of work-place injuries within the educational setting defined as human violence. The goal of the symposium is to provide an opportunity for our school-based and special purpose Members to meet in a facilitated forum in order to connect with each other. We will discuss concerns and commonalities and strategize solutions, in an effort to reduce human violence injuries within the educational setting.

The term human violence incorporates a variety of injuries to staff involving assaultive behaviors such as: bites, punches, kicks, scratches, hair-pulling and spiting. These injuries are experienced by a variety of employees within the educational setting, most notably paraprofessionals - Teacher or Instructional Assistants. Teachers and Principals are also impacted by these types of injuries.

Available to School District Members of The Trust’s Workers’ Compensation Program only.
