Event description

Description

Despite being the second largest form of consumer debt at $1.4 trillion, many people struggle to understand and navigate the student loan debt system. In this training, Stephanie Sampedro will lead us through a deep dive into the world of managing student debt. We will start with an overview of student debt and the various ways it can affect your clients' lives. We will discuss the ways it impacts the lives of clients in their 20s to 60s. We will also practice counseling clients on their debt and how to help coach them through determining their best plan of action. You will leave with more knowledge, resources, and confidence in your ability to guide clients through managing student debt.

The First United Methodist Church has an ADA accessible ramp to the building as well as accessible restrooms.

Please direct questions to Laina Green, Neighborhood Partnerships’ Economic Opportunity Manager at lgreen@neighborhoodpartnerships.org.

Parking:

The First United Methodist Church has free parking available in Lot B which may be accessed by SW 17th or SW 18th Avenues. We encourage guests from Portland to take public transit to the church. It is right off of the Goose Hollow Max Station on the blue and red lines.
