About this event
When the COVID waivers are lifted, experts are expecting a significant increase in student loan delinquencies and defaults. With 40 million borrowers entering repayment at the same time, during a once in a century economic crisis, it is expected that loan servicers and the Department of Education will be overwhelmed, leaving some vulnerable borrowers with difficulty accessing sound and expert advice on how to manage their student debt. Schools will become and even more important resource to these borrowers, making it all the more important to ensure school staff fully understand all things related to student loan repayment.

Offered in a nine hour “boot camp” or broken up over three days, the program covers:
Understanding the various federal, private and other student loan programs
Deferments, forbearances, consolidation and refinancing
Repayment options (includes all five income driven plans, two others you probably have never heard of as well as the other repayment plans available)
Public Service Loan Forgiveness and other forgiveness and discharge options
Managing and resolving delinquency and default (includes how to navigate disputes and other resources)
Presented by Betsy Mayotte, a nationally recognized student loan expert with over 20 years’ experience in student loan policy and advocacy, this series weeds out the “will probably never encounter” from the “must know” for busy financial planners and wealth management experts. This course is eligible for 8.5 CEU credits
