Description

Legislative Education Advocacy Day 2018

This is an opportunity for social work students to receive training in advocacy and apply these skills in the afternoon through visits with legislators. Professional social workers are also welcome to attend and CEU's are available for the morning session.

The morning program:

8:30 - 9:00 am Registration and Breakfast

9:00 - 11:30 Program

KNASW encourages participants to eat lunch at Washburn University Memorial Union through purchasing food or bringing your lunch due to the lack of food options at or near the Topeka Capitol.

12:45 pm - Rally and Group Photo - South Side on Capitol Steps

The afternoon is focused on meeting with your legislators and attending legislative committee meetings.

Please contact your legislator prior to Advocacy Day to set up a meeting with them.
