STUDENTS SHARING WHAT’S WORKING!

About this Event

This first ever Summit has been structured to give leaders of student-led groups throughout Minnesota the opportunity to join with their peers in a unique facilitated dialogue. Students will share information about their organizations: how they formed, the structure, and the activities that have made a difference in their schools to promote a supportive atmosphere, reduce stigma, and change the conversations around mental health.

"Half of all chronic mental illness begins by age 14, 75% by age 24." -- World Health Organization

With an increase in awareness of the mental health challenges in youth, comes a need for an increase in support. In recent years, many student-led groups and clubs have been started to help students change their school culture around mental health through fun and accessible activities on important topics.

Topics to be discussed:

  • Promoting Positive Social Connectedness
  • Encouraging Healthy Self-Care and Help-Seeking Behavior
  • Finding and Sharing Effective Resources
  • Group Activities and School-Wide Promotion

This is a FREE VIRTUAL EVENT, but space is LIMITED!

A maximum of TWO representatives per student-led, school-based organization will be admitted. Each participant will be expected to register individually, using a valid school-issued e-mail address. Registrations submitted through any non-school emails (ie: @gmail, @ymail, @hotmail, etc.) will be canceled.

Once an attendee's registration has been received, a confirmation e-mail will be sent with a survey about your school group/club/organization. Once the completed survey is received by The Heart and Mind Connection, a second email will be sent to the attendee with their unique access link to the ZOOM event.

Any data collected from the event survey will be kept strictly confidential, and will not be shared or sold to any third-party companies, groups, organizations, or government-entities.

If you have additional questions prior to registering, please contact Christopher Shaw, Executive Director of The Heart and Mind Connection directly at: chris@theheartandmindconnection.org
