The San Mateo County Office of Education welcomes Dora Dome, Esquire, who will present a series of four workshops to assist school districts with effective strategies in the areas of appropriate discipline, reducing suspensions, Title IX guidance and compliance, and reducing bullying behaviors.
Day 1: Discipline Basics/Special Education Discipline (October 21, 2019)
Day 2: Creating a Culturally Competent Discipline Process/Trauma-Sensitive Alternatives to Discipline with Case Studies (December 2, 2019)
Day 3: Title IX: 101/Investigating Discriminatory Harassment Complaints (February 4, 2020)
Day 4: Creating Safe Schools: Strategies for Effective Bullying Intervention and Transgender Students' Rights, Privacy and Facilities (March 23, 2020)
Individual sessions $175 per person

About the presenter: Dora J. Dome, Esquire, has practiced Education Law for over 20 years, primarily in the areas of student issues and special education. She graduated from the University of Hawaii, Richardson School of Law (J.D.) and from the University of California, Los Angeles (B.A.). Ms. Dome currently provides leagl representation to school districts on student issues. She has developed and conducted trainings for numerous school districts and school boards in the area of student diversity and equity, student and special education discipline, harassment/discrimination, bullying, special education and more. Her first book, Student Disicipline, Special Education Discipline, Anti-Bullying, and Other Relevant Student Issues: A Guide for Practitioners, has been described as a "must-have" for anyone seeking to understand student discipline and bullying.
