Event description
Student Day 2019 - Annual Suzuki Association of Ontario Conference (Guelph) - Nov 2

About this Event

The Suzuki Association of Ontario Conference is a yearly event which happens in a different Ontario city every November. Guelph is proud to be hosting the conference this year. For Suzuki families, this will be a wonderful opportunity to get a shot in the arm by meeting new Suzuki friends and reconnecting with old ones, working with dynamic and inspiring teachers and discovering new ways to grow as musicians. Guelph is one of the oldest and most vibrant Suzuki programs in North-America. All levels will be well represented. This will be loads of FUN!!!

As the chair of the organizing committee for this year’s SAO conference, I am thrilled to invite you to visit Guelph on November 2nd and join our Suzuki community for a celebration of music and the Suzuki spirit. Our Suzuki families and teachers can’t wait to welcome you! Our venue is a beautiful and safe environment with lots of space for children to interact and build new friendships. In an effort to keep things green, we encourage you to bring your own lunch and your own water bottles. There is a large cafeteria for you to get comfortable and chat with other Suzuki families over lunch. We will also have a snack bar with beverages and snacks to carry you through the day. Our guest clinicians are super inspiring and will give you and your children lots of new ways to approach your daily practice challenges and look at the musical world. Come to experience the Guelph Suzuki community!

We are thrilled to announce that Teri Einfeldt will be our Keynote Speaker this year! Teri is the Chair of the Suzuki Department at The Hartt School Community Division of The University of Hartford, where she maintains a studio of students from ages 4 to 18. In her role as adjunct professor at The Hartt School, she instructs Master of Music candidates in Suzuki pedagogy. She is also the chair of the SAA’s Teacher Development Advisory Committee. Teri is an enthusiastic and inspiring speaker who has given careful thought over the years to the commitment of all Suzuki teachers to life-long learning for the benefit of all children. We can’t wait to hear more about her vision.
