Event description

Description

Prevailing student affairs practices are not sufficient to advance social justice within and beyond our colleges and universities. The summer 2018 Emory Higher Education Institute Student Affairs Certificate Program will focus on helping participants identify and leverage their institution’s strengths to develop innovative frameworks, strategies, policies, and programs to address issues of access, diversity, inclusion, equality, equity, and social justice.

Innovation is more than a eureka moment: It is a process that includes identifying issues and opportunities, gathering data, getting the right people in the room, testing, implementing, and assessing. Over four days, EHEI faculty will share their institutions’ current experiments in applied innovation, lead participants in innovation-generating exercises to bring back to their schools, and help participants develop social justice strategies congruent with their institution’s values, contexts, and resources.

This program is for mid- to executive-level student affairs professionals and is limited to 17 participants.
