Description

TWO, TWO GREAT EVENTS IN ONE!

Strummerfest's "Strummerfeast" on December 22, 2016, is our first ever "gala" dinner party followed by an into-the-night rock concert.

Well, "gala" might be a stretch -- but there will be great food, and great music, and, hopefully, great people like you attending; so how much more "gala"-ish does it need to be?

DINNER & SHOW

The night begins with a dinner & show combo (just $40; i.e., pretty much just 'cost') starting at 6 pm; doors will open about 5:30, for a little mingling and getting settled before eating.

Remembering that the man we celebrate every year -- Joe Strummer -- was in many ways just a downhome British bloke, dinner offerings from the excellent chef at KW Boathouse include a choice of three Brit-themed entrees: Fish & Chips, Steak & Kidney Pie, or a vegetarian curry. Each dinner is flanked on the front by a choice of soup (Ginger Butternut Squash, or Roasted Red Pepper) or salad, and on the back end by a dessert -- your choice of New York Cheesecake with whipped cream and seasonal berries, or German Apple Strudel with Vanilla Cream Sauce (or, for those who can't take the pastry, fresh sliced fruit).

When we are ready to start entertaining, our awesome emcee, Carrie Humphries (a co-founder of this Strummerfest experience) will take the stage, and we will hear, in turn, from these terrific local indie singer/songwriter/musical-geniuses:

- Vienna D'Amato Hall,
- Ian Smith & Nick Skalkos (of The Miniatures and Spirits), and
- Drew Leith (of DLF - Drew Leith And The Foundation).

We'll also hear from our featured charities, Waterloo Region Suicide Prevention Council and Your Life Counts, whose messages of hope are part of what inspires our annual activities.

AFTER-DINNER SHOW

The dinner & show program should conclude about 8 p.m., so that by about 8:15 the doors will open for everyone to join in for a small cover (unless you have already paid the dinner and show price, in which case you can just stay for free!). Then, starting about 8:30, the rocking gets going with:

- T.c. Folkpunk
- Skipnoize and (we are thrilled to announce)
- Kensington Hillbillys!

If you haven't heard these awesome performers before, come on out, because you're going to love 'em. Awesome, eclectic, rich and original rocking sounds.

Not only is this a great night out, but it's a great way to celebrate the holidays. In fact, if your family, group of friends, or empoyers, haven't already decided when and where to have your holiday party, come have it with us!!

SUPPORT STRUMMERFEST & OUR FEATURED CHARITIES

When you purchase your ticket(s) to the Gala event, you also have the options of donating to one or both of our featured charities (links to their sites are found above on this page). Giving gives the gift of hope and may help save a life.

You also have the option of becoming a Strummerfest Sponsor. We'd be happy to give you recognition on our website and in social media postings, as a special friend and supporter of Strummerfest. Heck, we might even give you a free Strummerfest lanyard (while supplies last). For donations greater than $200 in connection with a particular event, you may also receive recognition in promotional materials as an event sponsor.
