Stroud Red Shed Launch Festival

Saturday 2nd September

12:00pm - 4:00pm

The Queen Victoria Pub, 5 Gloucester Street,

Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 1QG

Stroud Red Shed is a new grass roots political community for Stroud for those on the ‘left of politics’ who want to be part of a creative, inspiring and welcoming new movement for political and social change. It is not party political and is open to all like minded people on the left of politics.

We are launching our new community by having a day of music, local food, stalls and workshops to bring like minded people together in Stroud to network, plan, debate and discuss how we move forward as a left wing movement in Stroud.

· Brilliant live Music from the Stroud Red Band.

· Local Food Stalls, Refreshments

· Information and Campaign Stalls from Stroud Against The Cuts, Stroud Red Shed, Rising Up, 38 Degrees, Unite the Union, the National Union of Teachers, Momemtum and more...

· Prize Draw, including a signed Canvas Picture of Jeremy Corbyn, among lots of other brilliant prizes

· Childrens Activities

Workshops (Please book your place for these workshops by clicking on this event to reserve a place, maximum number 40 per workshop):

1. 12:15- 1:15: Civil Disobedience -with Dr Gail Bradbrook from Rising UP

2. 1:30 -2:10 : ‘Press Letter Writing for Left Activists’ With Local Campaigner, Activist and Academic, Dr Richard House.

3. 2:25-3:05: Campaigning to Save the NHS’ with Stroud Against The Cuts

4. 3:20 -4:00: ‘How Community Activism can help rebuild the left’ with Debbie Hicks, Red Shed.

*Funds raised by Red Shed will be donated to the Grenfell Tower Fire Fund organised by Eartha Pond.
