Event description

Description

This month’s Member Connect focuses on things we need to watch for when we head into the changing season. While the holiday season is often referred to as “the most wonderful time if the year “ for many it is not so.

Join us for an educational presentation learning about the what stress does to our bodies, the changes in mood with the changing in seasons, and how these factors can trigger our state of well-being. We will also talk about what to watch out for in ourselves and our loved ones this season, as well as discuss some positive coping mechanisms.

Presented by Natasha Bell who has been a primary care paramedic for six years. She began her career working in the Edmonton remand center. Here she was faced with a large population of patients who suffered with Mental Illness. Feeling ill prepared and lacking knowledge she decided to go back to school and learn more. To this end she got a Bachelors degree majoring in Psychology and minoring in sociology. Natasha currently is working full time as a paramedic out in Alberta Beach and does suicide awareness with the Coordinated Suicide Prevention Program. In both careers self care is a must. Natasha has two dogs and a horse that for her are the best forms of therapy, she also plays golf in the summer as well as spending time relaxing at the lake.

Ticket price includes a light fare provided by The Nook Cafe.
