Come retreat from the stressors and distractions of everyday life and discover a healthier, happier you.

10:30am Check-in

10:45am-12:15pm  Gentle Asana Class, including meditation

12:30pm  Vegetarian lunch provided

1:30-3:00pm  Talk: The Stress Response: Fight/Flight/Freeze Affects You on All Levels

3:15-4:15pm  Explore the Breath: Pranayama Practice and Chanting/Kirtan

Please plan to take it easy in the evening.

 

Sunday • 3/31

10:30am-noon  Gentle Asana Class, including meditation

12:15pm  Vegetarian lunch provided

1:15-2:45pm  Talk: How Yoga Practices Benefit the Five Subtle Layers of the Body 

3:00-4:00pm Yoga Nidra session

4:15pm on  Individual 15-minute followups for each participant

 

Participants are encouraged to make an appointment in advance for an intake session. This will help us better serve you.

San Francisco Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center presents the core, true, classical teachings of the essential Yoga practices and philosophy for Self-Realization.

Swami Sivananda, a great modern yogi and saint from the Himalayas, was a medical doctor before becoming a monk and famous sage. He is the guru of Swami Vishnudevananda, who founded the organization named Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, under the name of his Master.

The Yoga we teach is the classical yoga/meditation method coming from Patanjali—the eight limbs of Yoga.

Vedanta philosophy comes from the Vedas, the oldest scripture known to humankind. It explains what the end is and how to achieve it. It teaches the unity of life or oneness of consciousness, and forms the philosophical basis of the teaching of Yoga.

The motto "Unity in Diversity" points out that Oneness is our essence. The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center is a non-profit, volunteer-based, spiritual organization open to all, irrespective of age, race, creed, sexual orientation or status.
