Strengths-based practice
Many services aim to work with people’s strengths, goals and interests. However, sometimes we undermine this by focussing on people’s problems rather than on nurturing their passion, motivation and self-esteem. Strengths-based practice can help people rebuild their lives following homelessness, multiple disadvantage and trauma. This course will help you to implement truly strengths-based practice with simple and creative tools which can transform people’s experience of your support.
The session includes:
· Understanding the difference between strengths and deficits
· The role of strengths-based practitioners
· Strengths-based assessment, support and risk management
· How to discover and support strengths
· Promoting community inclusion and positive networks
Lunch & Refreshments will be provided, if you have any dietary requirements please let us know at least 2 weeks prior to the training date.
The car park at the Dudson Centre is at the front of the building and pay & display.
Unfortunately, we are only able to provide these training opportunities free to people who live or work in the Stoke-on Trent Area.
