Description

Since Oct 1st, 2015, mental health providers are required to use the DSM 5 for making diagnoses. Clinicians continue to have questions about the new and modified DSM 5 including, a) structural changes, b) new/modified diagnoses and, c) the diagnostic coding process. This includes exploring the role of the ICD 10 as part of the diagnostic equation. To accomplish the objectives, the presenter will utilize lecture, practice skill enhancement exercises and audiovisual resources.

Objectives
1. Identify three implications of the ICD 10 as part of the diagnostic equation.
2. Develop skills on how to utilize new and changed diagnostic criteria sets.
3. Identify three structural changes made to the DSM 5.
